Rhinoplasty in Manta, Ecuador

Rhinoplasty considers how your nose looks and how it functions. Structural planning aims for facial balance while assessing breathing concerns, rather than treating appearance in isolation.

Duration
2.5–3.5 hours
Anesthesia
General anesthesia or deep sedation
Hospital stay
Same-day discharge or 1 night
Initial recovery

These are general estimates. Your surgical plan, recovery and clearance to fly are decided individually.

Who may be a candidate?

  • A nasal hump, drooping tip or proportions that feel out of balance with the face.
  • Breathing difficulty associated with a structural nasal problem.
  • Nasal changes after trauma or previous surgery, subject to individual assessment.

Suitability is confirmed through a medical assessment, not photographs alone. Discuss your health history, medications, expectations and surgical risks with your surgeon.

How surgery is planned

Structural support may use cartilage grafts taken from your own tissue.

Preservation of the nasal bridge is considered as part of a natural-looking result.

The tip is refined with sutures designed to support stability.

The nasal airway is assessed alongside appearance; functional treatment depends on the cause of any breathing difficulty.

Recovery: what to expect

  1. Surgery day

A nasal splint is placed. Packing may be used depending on your case.

  2. Week 1

The splint is typically removed. Initial swelling and bruising begin to improve.

  3. Month 1

Many patients have resumed social activities, although swelling remains.

  4. Months 6–12

The result becomes more defined as swelling settles. Some noses take longer to reach their final appearance.

Planning surgery from abroad

Start with a virtual pre-consultation before arranging travel to Manta. Surgery takes place at Manta Hospital Center, with an in-person assessment and preoperative studies before your procedure. Plan time for postoperative checks in Ecuador and remote follow-up after you return home.

Do not use the initial recovery estimate as a flight date. Ask your surgeon how long you should stay, whether you need a companion and when it is safe to fly in your particular case.

Questions about rhinoplasty

Will my nose look natural after rhinoplasty?

The goal is a nose that fits your facial proportions. Your skin, underlying structure, previous surgery and healing all influence what is achievable. The consultation is the time to discuss the changes you want and their limits.

Can rhinoplasty improve breathing?

It may help when breathing difficulty is caused by a structural problem that can be treated surgically. Not every breathing problem has the same cause, so a functional assessment is needed before discussing likely benefits.
