Facelift in Manta, Ecuador

Restore definition to your face and neck while keeping the expression that makes you, you. A facelift repositions deeper tissues rather than simply pulling the skin tight.

Initial recovery

These are general estimates. Your surgical plan, recovery and clearance to fly are decided individually.

Who may be a candidate?

  • Sagging cheeks or reduced definition along the jawline.
  • Loose skin and loss of definition where the neck meets the chin.
  • Facial skin laxity associated with aging or weight loss.

Suitability is confirmed through a medical assessment, not photographs alone. Discuss your health history, medications, expectations and surgical risks with your surgeon.

How surgery is planned

The deeper support layer, known as the SMAS, is treated to improve facial support.

Incisions are placed around the ears and hairline to help conceal scars.

Neck contouring may include tightening the platysma, the thin muscle beneath the skin of the neck.

Your own fat may be used to restore lost volume when appropriate.

Recovery: what to expect

  1. Surgery day

Surgery followed by an overnight hospital stay.

  2. Week 1

Stitches are typically removed around days 7–10. Swelling and bruising begin to settle.

  3. Week 3

Many patients feel ready for social activities. Exercise resumes gradually only with your surgeon’s approval.

  4. Month 3

The result becomes more settled as scars continue to mature. Healing varies from person to person.

Planning surgery from abroad

Start with a virtual pre-consultation before arranging travel to Manta. Surgery takes place at Manta Hospital Center, with an in-person assessment and preoperative studies before your procedure. Plan time for postoperative checks in Ecuador and remote follow-up after you return home.

Do not use the initial recovery estimate as a flight date. Ask your surgeon how long you should stay, whether you need a companion and when it is safe to fly in your particular case.

Questions about facelift

Will a facelift make me look different?

The aim is a refreshed appearance, not a different identity. Working on the deeper support layer helps avoid relying on skin tension alone. Your anatomy, healing and surgical plan influence the result; a specific outcome cannot be guaranteed.

How long do facelift results last?

Results can be long-lasting, but a facelift does not stop aging. Genetics, skin care and lifestyle affect how your face changes over time. Dr. Villavicencio will discuss realistic expectations at your consultation.
