Before you travel
It starts with a virtual pre-consultation: history, goals, standardized photographs and a preliminary surgical plan. Pre-operative laboratory work and cardiology clearance are completed in your home country and reviewed before a date is confirmed.
Nothing is scheduled until the surgeon has reviewed those results. This avoids the most common failure of medical tourism: arriving to find out you are not a candidate.
Getting to Manta
Most patients fly into Guayaquil or Quito. From Guayaquil, Manta is roughly a three-hour drive; from Quito it is a 45-minute domestic flight. The team coordinates ground transportation and recommends hotels close to the hospital.
Surgery and recovery in Manta
Surgery is performed at Manta Hospital Center, an accredited facility with in-house anesthesiology and overnight hospitalization when the procedure requires it. The in-person pre-operative assessment happens 24 to 48 hours before the date.
Recovery takes place locally, with scheduled controls performed by the surgeon personally. Suture removal and clearance to fly are given only in person.
After you fly home
Follow-up continues remotely with direct access to the surgeon: photographic controls at defined intervals, scar management protocol and guidance on returning to exercise. If a complication appears, you are dealing with the operating surgeon, not a coordinator.
